About India mills

Prophetess Dr. India L. Mills is a preacher, teacher, author, and prophetic voice committed to helping people encounter the presence, power, and purpose of God. She is the wife of Apostle Robert M. Mills, a devoted mother and a proud grandmother. With more than two decades of ministry service, Dr. India carries a heartfelt assignment to preach the Gospel with truth, compassion, and spiritual authority—calling the broken, bound, and overlooked back to wholeness in Christ.

In 2000, she accepted the call to preach and received her license that same year. She was formally ordained as an Elder in 2004, and in 2019, she embraced the office of a prophet, continuing to serve with unwavering obedience to the voice of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Dr. India earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and received an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity. Beyond the pulpit, she also served as a business owner for over 20 years, becoming a trailblazer in her community through Miracles: A Salon in Torrington, Connecticut. As a professional cosmetician, she partnered with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families to provide training and specialized hair care support for ethnic foster children—combining excellence, advocacy, and compassion in practical ways.

Dr. India currently serves in multiple ministry leadership roles, including as the Founder of India Mills Ministries and Co-Founder and Co-Pastor of Living Water Ministries in Torrington, Connecticut—a growing, multicultural, non-denominational congregation committed to moving in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. She also serves as President of the women’s ministry, Queens of The Kingdom, where she leads by example and empowers women to serve God and others in the spirit of excellence.

Her ministry reaches beyond the local church walls. Dr. India has preached and taught both locally and internationally. She continues to faithfully serve in prison ministry through the State of Connecticut Department of Correction and the Federal Bureau of Prisons, bringing hope, truth, and the message of restoration to men and women who need them most.

In addition to her ministry work, Dr. India is a recognized advocate and conservator, appointed by the Connecticut Probate Courts to support individuals with physical and psychiatric disabilities. Her personal journey through domestic violence shaped her passion to help others find deliverance, identity, and restoration through Christ. She is also a certified Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor through Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury. Additionally, she served on the advisory board of the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services Trauma Initiative, contributing to trauma education and treatment for women recovering from mental illness and addiction. Across Connecticut, she has led numerous motivational and training sessions, equipping communities with awareness and hope.

Dr. India’s advocacy also includes media and educational impact. She participated in the documentary film released in 2000 by the Connecticut Women’s Consortium, titled Trauma: No More Secrets, where she shared her journey through domestic violence and sexual abuse, and her path toward healing and freedom.

Dr. India is also the author of her debut book, His Blood, My Testimony, a powerful work that reflects her message of redemption, deliverance, and the life-changing impact of Jesus Christ.

One of Dr. India’s distinct spiritual gifts is her ability to hear and discern the Holy Spirit's leading. This sensitivity to God’s voice fuels a prophetic anointing that flows through her teaching and ministry. Known for her honesty, transparency, compassion, and deep love for God’s Word, she ministers with a clear goal: to see chains broken, minds renewed, and lives transformed through the power of Jesus Christ.
